Maine Man Found Guilty of Tax Fraud Charges

A Maine man was found guilty at trial of federal tax fraud charges.

According to court records, Marshall Swan, 56, of Chelsea, Maine, and his wife, former

Chelsea selectman Carole Swan, filed false federal income for tax years 2006 through 2010 in which they underreported about $650,000 in gross receipts and sales for their business, Marshall Swan Construction.

They evaded about $145,000 in income and self-employment taxes.

Marshall Swan faces up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each of the tax charges.
